It was a pleasant surprise to receive WSM Nashville TN on 650 khz for the first time on the 7th May 1979 via the Siera receiver and 20 metre longwire antenna at Pinelands. I was fortunate to receive a QSL card in response to my reception report.
WSM's impressive 808 feet (246 m) Blaw-Knox tower was erected in 1932 and is the tallest of eight such towers that remain in use in North America (Photograph Wikimedia Commons).
